What gets sent
Your browser extracts text from the PDF, DOCX or TXT file you select. When you request a roast, the extracted text and chosen language go to this site's server. The original file is not part of that request.
The server includes the text in a prompt to Google Gemini. If the configured OpenRouter fallback is used, the prompt goes to OpenRouter and its selected model provider instead.
Provider processing and retention policies apply. This site does not promise immediate deletion or that third parties never retain the text.
What stays in your browser
The selected file, extracted text and roast are held in the current page state. Starting a new CV or reloading clears that state, but does not delete data already sent to a provider or any service logs.
Your language preference is saved in your browser's local storage. Clear this site's stored data in your browser to remove it.
Analytics and site requests
Banana CV uses Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics for site usage information, including page visits, browsers and devices. Hosting and asset services also receive requests and may keep their own logs.
